    improve indenting and wrapping: no tabs
    
    First, spacers with text do not need to leave room for --switch
    definition, because they are spacers!
    
    Secondly, tabs feel like a waste of horizontal space at 8 wide, and
    for no real reason.  Use four spaces instead.
