Before this patch, setting password-character in fuzzel.ini would
auto-enable password mode.
This is incorrect.
The correct behavior is:
* password mode is only enabled when --password=[CHAR] is used
* password-character from fuzzel.ini is only used when --password is
used without argument.

render: remove check that skips rendering lines if we’re outside the buffer
First, the logic doesn’t always work; the user may have configured a
smaller line-height, than that of the font. The check would always
trigger, and the last element always skipped.
Second, we’re already setting a clip region on the buffer, so we’re
already protected against writing outside the pixman buffer.
Thus, it makes sense to render the (typically last) line, even if it
may get truncated.

wayland (regression): don’t dereference ‘app’ when it’s NULL
When requesting an XDG activation token, we need the app ID. This is
stored in the ‘application’ struct, and thus we were dereferencing our
‘app’ pointer to get it.
The problem is ‘app’ may be NULL in this context. For example, when
executing a command line (instead of a match entry).
Fix by simply skipping the activation token.

wayland: execute-or-next: use matches_get_total_count() to determine action
The execute-or-next action will select the next entry, if there are
more than one match. If there’s just one match, it’s executed.
However, we used matches_get_count(), which returns the number of
matches *on the current page*. This meant that if last page only
contained one entry, you could hold shift to move through the entire
match list, until you reached the last page, where suddenly that entry
was executed (instead of wrapping around to the first match).

icon: fix loading of absolute-path PNG icons
Before we implemented lazy-loading of icons, the svg() function
returned false if the icon failed to load (for example, if it’s not an
SVG, but e.g. a PNG).
Now, both svg() and png() always returns true. This broke loading of
PNG icons with an absolute path, since we always tried svg() first.
Fix by checking the file extension, and choosing svg() or png()
accordingly.

config: apply fontconfig rules if user didn’t set an explicit font size
If the user didn’t explicitly set the font size (e.g. font=monospace,
instead of font=monospace:size=12), our initial attempt to read the
FC_SIZE and FC_PIXEL_SIZE attributes will fail, and we used to
fallback to setting the size to 8pt.
Change this slightly, so that when we fail to read the FC_*_SIZE
attributes, apply the fontconfig rules, but *without expanding*
them (i.e. without calling FcDefaultSubstitute()).
Then try reading FC_*_SIZE again.
If that too fails, _then_ set size to 8pt. This allows us to pick up
rules that set a default {pixel}size:

<match>
<edit name="pixelsize" mode="append"><double>14</double></edit>

xdg: use localized strings, when possible
Use the locale set in LC_MESSAGES, and map against the .desktop files
localized keys.
According to the XDG spec, locales should be matched in this order:
* lang_country@MODIFIER
* lang_country
* lang@MODIFIER
* lang
* (default - non-localized)
To avoid having to scan all keys multiple times, we keep track of each
key’s “locale score”. The default score is 1 (the non-localized key),
“lang” has score 2, and lang_country@MODIFIER has score 5.
When parsing the key, extract the locale and match against
LC_MESSAGES, in the order mentioned above. Also remember the score.
Then, when matching the key, also check that key’s locale score, and
only update it if the current score is higher than the last one.

wayland: skip raw symbol and raw key code matching for keypad keys
By default, we map a couple of keypad keys to actions (e.g. KP_PageUp
to prev-page, KP_PageDown to next-page).
Allowing bindings to match against "raw" keypad symbols, or raw key
codes even, means we’ll *always* match KP_PageUp, regardless of the
NumLock setting. Thus making it impossible to enter e.g. ‘3’ and ‘9’
on the keypad.
The whole point of matching raw symbols and key codes is to allow
ASCII key bindings (e.g. ctrl+a) to work also on non-latin layouts.
For keypad keys, this point is moot. The keypad is unaffected by
layouts (unless you have a weird custom layout).
So, simply skip raw symbol/key code matching when the key binding
refers to a keypad key.

commit a18306f01810206383b13064b2ef6b39d76fd3eb
Author: Daniel Eklöf <daniel@ekloef.se>
Date: Sun Dec 4 20:03:41 2022 +0100
main: add --dmenu0 command line option
Works like --dmenu, except that input is NULL separated instead of
newline separated. Note that in this mode, icons are not
supported (since Rofi’s extended icon protocol uses \0 as entry
vs. icon delimiter).

main: better verification of color values on the command line
* Don’t allow “partial” matches (where part of the value is a valid
hex number, and another part of it is not, e.g. “1234xxxx”)
* Check that the color value is exactly 8 digits
